Sarasota Bike Polo

I really like these photos. They belong to Spoke N Word on Picassa, who takes lots of cool photos of everything bikes. Check them out! These are from Sarasota, FL.

Bike Polo

I've been thinking about, and wanting to play, bike polo ever since my friend Jared started playing in Sarasota. Everytime I talk to him, he tells me how amazing it is.
There is no reason why I have not done this before, other than ignorance of this sport. I like bikes and playing sports with my friends!
So I've been investigating this further, spurred on by my and Jeremy's resolution that we will try to play next summer. Here is what I have found, and if this doesn't make you want to start playing, I don't know what will.
Apparently it's already pretty big in Ottawa. Who knew?! In fact, 3 Ottawa guys won the 2008 North American Bike Polo Championships.
I gotta catch up!
The Hardcourt Bike Polo blog is awesome, and displays some of these fine photos:

Cody ChesnuTT

Not only do I love Cody ChesnuTT and mourn the fact that there's only one album, The Headphone Masterpiece, but this video is also really cute. And the song is fantastic. Seriously, get this album. You will not be disappointed. I mean, come on, it's homemade. You may know him from "Seed 2.0" by The Roots, which is a cover of his song "The Seed"

Remember 90's rap and r&b?

Let me refresh your memory

I think the best part was always the dancing troops, party anthems, references I don't understand, and the style. Of course.

I'm going to post more as I go deeper into my nostalgia

Obama Gear

I searched "Obama" on Etsy and found that this week's election really inspired people to start crafting. Obama is inspiring in many ways.
I think Obama's popularity alone could help boost the economy-- ObamaGear, A whole new industry for America!
As you will see by the photos below, some items are... questionable. "Pugs for Obama"?

This tshirt is by far the worst I've seen yet.

However, this is historic

easybloom!

Wow. This product is amazing, especially if you're an indoor/outdoor gardener that is learning how things work. For the most part gardening is old school. You can read books from 1975 and still get just about the same information. Which is what I did.
However, if you know what a usb port is EasyBloom explains why your plant is giving up on you.
Your relationship can continue to flourish and grow!

from their website:

What is EasyBloom Learn_graphic

The EasyBloom Plant Sensor and website allow you to:

Bullet_1 Determine which plants will thrive in a specific spot in your yard or home.
Bullet_2 Diagnose an ailing plant so you can bring it back to health.
Bullet_3 Access detailed plant information on over 5000+ plants; create a custom plant library of your favorite plants.

How EasyBloom Works
  • Set It
    Setit

Plug the EasyBloomTM Plant Sensor into a USB port - you will be brought to your My EasyBloom Dashboard page. Put the sensor into Recommend or Monitor mode.

  • Place Sensor
    Place

Place the sensor in a spot where you would like to grow a plant, or adjacent to the plant that needs monitoring. Let the EasyBloom Plant Sensor gather a ‘plant's eye’ view of that location.

  • Plug It In
    Plugit

After 24 hours, plug the sensor into your USB port. Sensor data is uploaded to the EasyBloom website where algorithms are run that will either recommend a plant or diagnose what is wrong with an ailing plant.

  • Get Results
    Recommendations

When in Recommend mode, the EasyBloom website will present a set of plants that will thrive in that location. In Monitor mode, you will be told what is going wrong with a plant with visual cues on how to fix it.

  • Enjoy
    Enjoy

Sit back and enjoy flourishing plants.

Margaret Atwood

I really like the way she writes and speaks, so here she is on CTV (note: The interviewer is classically annoying).
I really like short stories and I have certainly never read a novel centered around fiscal matters, so I think I will read this.
I also need to remember to read Divisadero.
